How is WTN Thyroid Friendly superior to other similar products?

• It contains highly utilizable organic iodine extracted from brown seaweed, a natural and pure (organic) source of iodine.
• It contains the easily absorbed and utilized form of selenium, selenomethionine, a complex of selenium with the amino acid methionine. The half-life of selenomethionine is 2.5 times longer than inorganic forms and, like the amino acid methionine, it can be incorporated into proteins, allowing it to stay in the body for much longer.
• The amino acid L-tyrosine, as a precursor for the thyroid hormones T3 and T4, can support the synthesis of thyroid hormones, which are essential for the regulation of many metabolic processes, including metabolism, body temperature regulation, growth and development.
• Its guggulsterone content may support metabolic processes by helping to convert T4 thyroid hormone into its active T3 form.

Why and how does the product work?

The thyroid gland can be thought of as the body's gas pedal, regulating the metabolism of all cells. The hormone thyroxine (T4) is produced by the thyroid gland, while thyrotyronine (T3) is converted from T4 in the liver and other tissues. These hormones are essential for the proper development of cells in the body. Thyroid hormones regulate the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, determining the energy production from these nutrients.

Specific thyroid hormones play very important roles in the body, e.g. T4 affects cardiac output, heart rate, respiratory rate per minute and basal metabolic rate. Low BMR (BMR is the amount of energy the body uses to maintain physiological functions during rest) can cause fatigue, coldness and weight loss.

Thyroid hormones are therefore actively involved in the body's metabolic processes, so a lack of thyroid hormones or too high levels can have far-reaching consequences.

High levels of the stress hormone cortisol can affect thyroid function, resulting in low T4 levels or making it difficult to convert T4 to active T3. The nutrients needed to produce T3, which also help keep cortisol levels normal, can be helpful for people with these problems.

To support the proper functioning of the thyroid gland, the literature recommends various substances, which we have used to develop the WTN Thyroid Friendly Supplement.

L-Tyrosine (L-Tyrosine)

• L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that the body uses to produce noradrenaline and dopamine it can be a stress reliever in acute stress (which causes noradrenaline to break down) and can prevent the development of memory problems caused by stress.
• It is a necessary component for the production of T4 and T3 thyroid hormones and is therefore important for ensuring proper thyroid function.
• It is important to know that L-Tyrosine is recommended in the presence of hypothyroidism, but not in the presence of hyperthyroidism (about 95% of people with hypothyroidism have hypothyroidism)!

Indian balsamic extract (Guggul extract 2.5%)

• The active ingredient in the Ayurvedic herb Indian balsam tree (also known as guggul) is guggulsterone, which can regulate and stimulate thyroid function.
• New research has shown that it may partly stimulate thyroid hormone production and partly increase antioxidant levels in the liver.
• Research on guggulgesterone has also found that it naturally regulates the liver's fat-burning function (by controlling the 'farnesoid x' bile receptor), thereby helping to remove LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, triglycerides and toxins from the body.
• Guggulsterone has also been used for thousands of years to control body weight. All nutrients and ingredients that enhance fat burning have at least one indirect beneficial effect on thyroid function, as obesity itself is a huge stress on the thyroid gland.
• Overall, guggulsterone supports optimal thyroid hormone production, the conversion of thyroid hormone T4 to the more active T3 form. This accelerates metabolic processes and fat burning.

Organic brown algae (iodine)

• Brown seaweeds are abundant in the colder seas and their main characteristic is that they contain high concentrations of inorganic iodine (in the form of potassium iodide).
• In addition to potassium iodide, brown algae contain amino acids, which aid the utilisation of iodine, and other minerals and trace elements, such as iron, which aids iodine metabolism.
• Iodine is essential for T4 formation and organic brown seaweed is an excellent source of inorganic iodine.

Selenium (selenomethionine)

• Selenium in the body is predominantly concentrated in the thyroid gland, which is clear evidence that it is essential for its optimal function.
• It also acts as an antioxidant, which can protect the thyroid gland from oxidative processes.
• Selenium helps the production of thyroid hormones as a nutrient, being an active regulator of the conversion of thyroid hormone T4 to its T3 form. The T3 hormone is responsible for regulating the rate of metabolism in cells.
• The selenium in this product is in an organic form, which is more bioavailable than inorganic selenium compounds.
