Vitamin A 10000 IU

Vitamin A, also known as retinol, is an essential nutrient. This product contains 10,000 IU of vitamin A. It is often referred to as the “skin-protecting vitamin.” It can also be produced in the body from its precursors — the so-called provitamins. The most common precursors are various carotenoid compounds, among which the most active is β-carotene, found in carrots and apricots. These compounds can be converted into vitamin A in the intestinal tract as needed, with varying efficiency.

This vitamin (in retinol form) can be found in small amounts in cheese, butter, meat, and fish. In higher amounts, eggs contain approximately 350–600 µg of vitamin A per 100 g, while liver and liver products contain about 1500–1600 µg per 100 g.
Therefore, vitamin A is a fundamental nutrient obtained mainly from animal-based foods, while carotenoids are found in fruits and vegetables. Many carotenoids are closely related to vitamin A.

The requirement for vitamin A is measured in micrograms (µg). Another commonly used unit is IU (International Unit), or NE in Hungarian. 1 IU of vitamin A equals 1 µg of retinol, 6 µg of β-carotene, or 12 µg of other carotenoids.
About 70–90% of dietary vitamin A and 20–50% of carotenoids are absorbed. For healthy absorption, the presence of fat is necessary — that’s why MCT oil is included in the capsule formulation.
