Niacin, or vitamin B3, is a water-soluble B vitamin that can be found in small amounts in some foods (fish, brown rice, pulses), but is also increasingly popular in supplement form. Niacin is water-soluble and should be supplemented daily. It plays a role in the functioning of several enzymes in the body.

Vitamin B3

Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is a water-soluble vitamin of the B vitamin family. Most B-complex supplements also contain small amounts. It should not be confused with niacinamide or nicotinamide. Niacinamide is used in most vitamin preparations. Niacinamide is a derivative of niacin. Its use is widespread because it does not cause redness, but it is not thought to be as effective.
