The USA medical Ginkgo biloba capsules contain Ginkgo biloba extract and flavones extracted from ginkgo leaves, which have been supplemented with ginseng extract for better effect. USA medical Ginkgo biloba contains 60 capsules, which is 30 daily doses for one adult.

What is Ginkgo biloba and what is it good for?

Ginkgo biloba, also known as fern fir or maidenhair, is a tree native to China that has been cultivated for thousands of years for various uses. As it is the only surviving member of this ancient plant order, it is sometimes called a living fossil. The leaves and seeds of the tree are often used in traditional Chinese medicine, with modern research focusing primarily on ginkgo extract, which is produced from the leaves.

The leaves were used to treat brain and circulatory problems and respiratory complaints. Ginkgo nuts have also been used for coughs, fever, diarrhoea, toothache and even gonorrhoea. Today it is mainly sold as a supplement for memory support or brain health. Ginkgo is available as tablets, capsules, extracts and tea.

  • Outstanding antioxidant content
In addition to its anti-inflammatory and blood flow-enhancing properties, ginkgo's powerful antioxidant activity is also responsible for many of its health benefits. The antioxidants found in Ginkgo biloba have the potential to improve anxiety and protect against neurodegenerative diseases. Antioxidants work by neutralising free radicals that enter the body from the environment or as a result of normal metabolic functions. By preventing oxidative damage caused by free radicals, antioxidants protect against cellular and DNA damage, thus also protecting against chronic diseases.
  • Can help relieve anxiety
In a 4-week study of 107 people with generalised anxiety disorder, 480 mg of Ginkgo biloba per day significantly improved symptoms compared to placebo. Another study suggests that these results are due to ginkgo's ability to modulate gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors.
  • May support heart health
Many of ginkgo's benefits stem from its ability to increase blood circulation. In a study published in the journal Phytotherapy Research, participants who received Ginkgo biloba had an immediate increase in blood flow and a 12% increase in nitric oxide levels. Nitric oxide is vital for heart health as it helps dilate blood vessels. In another study, Ginkgo biloba increased blood flow and dilated blood vessels in healthy older adults, suggesting it may help reduce the risk of heart disease in the elderly.
  • May reduce symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
Ginkgo biloba has been shown to improve PMS symptoms in women. In a study of 165 women over three menstrual cycles, Ginkgo biloba reduced breast tenderness and pain, as well as neuropsychological symptoms. In another study, which looked at just two consecutive cycles, 40 mg of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract was found to improve PMS symptoms, including both physical and psychological symptoms, better than placebo.

Benefits of ginseng

Ginseng is an antioxidant-rich herb similar to ginkgo biloba. Research suggests that it may be beneficial for brain health, immune function, blood sugar regulation, among other things. These properties have led to its use in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.

Ginseng contains two important compounds: ginsenosides and ginctonin. These compounds complement each other and are one of the reasons for the plant's health benefits.

  • It can reduce inflammation
Studies have shown that ginseng extracts and ginsenoside compounds can inhibit inflammation and reduce oxidative damage to cells, which may contribute to the development of chronic diseases. Oxidative stress contributes to ageing and damage to the body caused by free radicals released from cellular activity, from our environment and from our hectic, stressful lifestyles.
A larger study in 2014 followed 71 post-menopausal women who took 3 grams (g) of red ginseng or a placebo every day for 12 weeks. Antioxidant activity and oxidative stress markers were then measured. They concluded that red ginseng may help reduce oxidative stress by increasing antioxidant enzyme activity.
  • May improve brain function
Although ginseng has many positive effects on our body, it is most famous for its beneficial effects on brain function, which have been supported by research in recent years.
A study involving 6422 older adults found that regular consumption of ginseng for at least 5 years was associated with improved cognitive function in later life. 7 In addition, another small study also showed that taking 200 milligrams (mg) of American ginseng after 3 hours significantly improved memory compared to a placebo.
  • Can increase energy levels and reduce fatigue
Like maca root, ginseng has known energy-boosting effects that make it a popular natural caffeine alternative.
A review of 10 studies concluded that ginseng can significantly improve symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome after as little as 15 days compared to placebo.
Furthermore, a review of more than 155 studies concluded that ginseng supplements can not only reduce fatigue but also enhance physical performance, which may be sympathetic to athletes and those who are exposed to higher physical stress in their daily lives.
USA medical Ginkgo biloba contains 800 mg of red Panax Ginseng extract in 1 daily dose.
