Candida is a type of fungus (yeast) and includes many different types of fungi. Candida infection is caused by Candida albicans (Candida for short). Candida is a parasite, so it gets the nutrients it needs to function from the host, causing damage to the host.

Our intestinal tract (gut flora) is home to many 'good' micro-organisms and all the 'bad' ones. There is a delicate balance here. If the number of 'good' micro-organisms is reduced, the balance is upset and this can lead to Candida proliferation.

So, an important aspect of protection against Candida is the health of the gut flora, and we offer probiotics containing 'good bacteria' to support this.

Symptoms of Candida infection:

  • Belly bloating
  • Diarrhoea
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Panic disorder
  • Hair loss
  • Eczema
  • Itchy skin
  • Thrush

In addition, Candida can also grow in the vagina - the fungus responsible for a large proportion of vaginal infections - which can lead to gynaecological problems, among other things:

  • Discharge
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Burning and itching

It can also multiply in the urinary tract, which can lead to prostatitis.

The diagnosis of Candidiasis can be made by a doctor using the appropriate laboratory tools to detect the Candida species in a sample, if successful then a Candida infection will be present.

For the treatment of Candida we offer a complex supplement containing many herbal ingredients called Candida support. The main active ingredients are:

  • Oregano oil: due to its thymol content, it has very strong anti-infection and anti-microbial properties
  • Lapacho (Pau'd Arco) extract: extract of the bark of the Mexican trumpet tree, high in coumarin and flavonoids, anti-inflammatory and anti-infective
  • Black walnut extract: high quercetin content, powerful antioxidant, protects cells from the harmful effects of infections
  • Magnesium: inhibits bacterial colonisation (agglutination).
