In what cases should you use it?
It may be useful for you if you have health problems due to excess estrogen. Fibroids, endometriosis conditions or premenstrual syndrome (PMS) can all be a sign of excess oestrogen.
If you have a proven high level of oestrogen and would like to support your liver's detoxification work, WTN I3K is a good choice as its ingredients can help to break down harmful substances and excess oestrogen in your body. It is also supplemented with active ingredients that promote the elimination of broken down toxins through the liver and kidneys.
How is the WTN I3K a step ahead of other products for similar purposes?
- It has a much broader spectrum of action than, for example, monocomponent products containing only indole-3-carbinol with the same problem focus.
- Together, its active ingredients can reduce circulating levels of oestrogen in the blood by supporting oestrogen-depleting processes.
- Its components may protect estrogen-sensitive tissues in different ways, exerting an anti-estrogen-like effect.
- Its strong antioxidant content may protect against the harmful effects of inflammatory processes and free radicals.
- It can reduce blood cholesterol levels, which may not only be beneficial for the cardiovascular system, but may also contribute to the health of the liver and the endocrine system.
- It can also strengthen the excretory functions of the kidneys, thereby helping to eliminate waste products.
Why and how does the product work?
One of the most important sites of detoxification metabolism in the body is the liver, where the neutralisation or detoxification process is divided into 3 main stages:
- preparation (this is where WTN I3K is mainly involved),
- neutralisation,
- transport.
The whole process is based on a change in the solubility of a compound (fat-soluble compounds are converted into water-soluble compounds), so that this water-soluble compound can now easily leave the body (via the bile-biliary-intestinal tract-secretory or the blood-brain-renal-vesical route).
The same processes are needed for the healthy functioning of estrogen to be eliminated, so for example, estrogen dominance requires support for the complex work of the detoxification and excretory system, whether it is a lifestyle or a choice of dietary supplement.
The
WTN I3K components can support most of the mechanisms of action that help to reduce estrogen levels and their adverse effects:
1. Directing estrogen breakdown in the right direction
During estrogen breakdown, 3 types of metabolites are produced in the type I detoxification phase (in the liver). 16 L-OH) and 4-OH metabolites can be harmful, while 2-OH is harmless, so it is worthwhile to steer the whole breakdown process in this direction (Figure 1). Cabbage extract can help in this.
2. Reducing oxidation processes
Green tea extract and quercetin extracted from the Japanese japonica flower can reduce the formation of harmful quinone compounds that are formed by oxidation.
3. Support kidney function
The kidneys also play an important role in the elimination of breakdown products and their function is supported by celery leaf extract standardised to apigenin.
4. Reducing the concentration of active oestrogens
The lignans extracted from flaxseed can reduce free oestrogen levels in the circulation - by increasing the production of a protein called SHBG [sex hormone binding globulin], which binds free oestrogens.
5. Inhibition of estrogen synthesis
A key enzyme in the synthesis of oestrogen is the so-called aromatase enzyme. The lignans and quercetin extracted from flaxseed inhibit/slow down the activity of this enzyme, so less estrogen is produced.
6. Promotion of anti-oestrogen action at receptors
Lettuce extract and flaxseed lignans inhibit estrogen receptor binding, thus protecting estrogen-sensitive tissues. They act as mild anti-estrogens.
Other estrogen-reducing strategies
1. Supporting the so-called methylation processes is of high importance in the breakdown of estrogens and environmental estrogens. This process is carried out by an enzyme called COMT, which is supported by the active ingredients in the WTN Methyl Spectrum.
2. The active ingredients in WTN HormoTOXTM block the enzyme beta-glucuronidase produced by certain bacteria, ensuring that toxins are actually excreted and not reabsorbed by the body as free estrogen. This would further increase the estrogen dominant state.
To support the estrogen-busting and detoxification processes, which product do I need when?
It depends on the individual situation, but as a starting point, we suggest the following:
1. By default, methylation processes should be supported first, e.g. with WTN Methyl Spectrum.
2. If this does not bring enough improvement, it is worthwhile to add WTN HormoTOXTM to help with estrogen toxin removal.
3. In severe estrogen dominant conditions, the use of WTN I3K to support estrogen and toxin cleavage is recommended in combination with WTN Metil Spektrum and WTN HormoTOXTM.
