The herb astragalus (Chinese knotweed, or bactivum) is a natural supporter of the body, a plant native to Asia.
The "Yellow Leader"
Discovered in the 2nd century by the Chinese Emperor Shen Nong, who listed it as an excellent herb, the most prized of all refreshing plants, in his now classic study (Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing). Its Chinese name, huang qi, means "Yellow Leader", as its root, which is considered of the greatest importance in Chinese medicine, is yellow in colour.
