Increasing carnosine levels through supplementation is an increasingly used tool among informed athletes and bodybuilders. The amino acids beta-alanine and L-histidine, in combination, increase carnosine concentrations in muscles. Carnosine is found in skeletal muscle, primarily in type II, fast-twitch muscle fibres.
